hi! i'm janice kim (she/her), a junior at pomona college pursuing double majors in art history and english with a minor in asian american studies.

my interests in art history center on contemporary asian american art, especially korean (american) art. i aim to challenge monolithic interpretations of diasporic narratives by examining how division and war have shaped stories of (in)visibility. i'm particularly interested in how historical and cultural contexts inform social practices, as well as how personal family narratives deepen my understanding of korean cinema.
